Firefox Released

Mozilla has released the 18th security and usability update for the Firefox 2 browser. For more information about this update see the Firefox Release Notes. Current Firefox 2 users may obtain Firefox manually via the Check for Updates… option from the Help menu. Automatic upgrade (for those who have this feature enabled) should occur within the next 24-48 hours. Alternatively, users may also download Firefox directly here.

IMPORTANT: Firefox 2.0.0.x will be maintained with security and stability updates until mid-December, 2008. All users are strongly encouraged to upgrade to Firefox 3.

Yes, well I’ve complained before, elsewhere and to Mozilla, that some users CANNOT upgrade to FF 3.x due to it’s prerequisites.
I’m using a Linux dist. that is two years old and is not likely to be upgraded because of hardware limitations, so FF 2.x will have to do. If however, a ‘released’ version of the QT ported FF 3.x was available, I might be able to upgrade.
