Fx 1.5.0.9/2.0.0.1 @ getfirefox.com

I had mentioned earlier that Mozilla had not updated the getfirefox.com page with the latest builds. Well, I just checked a few minutes ago and Mozilla has finally updated getfirefox.com with Firefox 1.5.0.9 and 2.0.0.1 builds. I tried the auto-update earlier but it was not working on my 1.5.0.8 (or was it 1.5.0.7) build. This may have been caused by an issue on my end as I don’t think the 1.5.0.8 build ever installed correctly. I had just gone ahead and manually download and installed 1.5.0.9 over whatever build I had previously in that folder.

Fx 1.5.0.9/2.0.0.1 & TBird 1.5.0.9 Released

Today Mozilla has released three major updates (postponed from December 14th):

• Firefox 1.5.0.9, likely to be the last release on the 1.5 builds. Remember, all support for the 1.5 builds will end on April 24, 2007.
• Firefox 2.0.0.1, 183 bug fixes including (but not limited too): Crashes (42), Memory Leaks (3), Regressions (41) and Privacy Related (4).
• Thunderbird 1.5.0.9, 7 bug fixes^* including: Build Configuration (2), Functionality (2), Spellchecker (1), Mac-specific (1) and Miscellaneous (1)

Auto-updates should start kicking in later this evening. If you want to update sooner visit getfirefox.com (note: at time of press, Mozilla has not yet updated the main page to download the new 2.0.0.1 version) or visit CyberNet and use their simple download tool, simply select your language and click the button for your OS.

* Bug fix list may not be all inclusive. Updates (if any) will be posted once the offical release notes for Thunderbird 1.5.0.9 are posted.
