Asa Dotzler: firefox 2, yes, tuesday

While looking around on mozillaZine Firefox Builds board earlier tonight I came across the thread, What’s the release date for 2.0 final?. Someone had posted a blog entry from Asa Dotzler:

PC World: Final Version of Mozilla Firefox 2 Will Be Released Oct. 24

According to an artilce which appear on the PC World website on Friday (October 20th), Firefox 2 is set for final release this coming Tuesday October 24th.

“Not to be outdone by Microsoft’s recent release of Internet Explorer 7, Mozilla will release the second major version of its rival Firefox browser on Tuesday, October 24.

According to Mozilla Vice President of Products Christopher Beard, Firefox 2.0, which should be available on Tuesday if all goes according to schedule, includes key new usability features missing in the new IE 7.” — PC World: Final Version of Mozilla Firefox 2 Will Be Released October 24th.

Now I do consider PC World as a very reliable source, especially if they are getting this information directly from Mozilla. I just hope they are not jumping the gun o this announcement. But then again, the bulk of the Firefox 2 Release Parties are next weekend. More news as it comes available.
